I would argue that a fiddle (violin with folksy style) could definitely work. Banjo is a must though. Sadly, I only have voice to offer, since piano is a no-go.

Yeah, yeah, fiddles work. I forgot about them when I said no strings. I guess acoustic guitars and banjos are also technically strings. But you know. No flowing orchestral-sounding strings.
Just64helpin is interested.

I would totally join in. (I even access to my campus radio's production studio to get uber sound quality.) I might be able to get a recorder or flute, but I also know of a place where I can pick up a marimba, rainstick, or some maracas.

Marimba, rainstick: nah. Maracas: possibly. Recorder/flute: yes.

Last night I was thinking maybe it was premature to decide everything about the track already. For now, maybe we should just list everyone who can play an instrument and would be willing to record for the track, so we know what we have available. Later we can figure out how it should all be done.
I've added everything mentioned so far, whether or not it fits the traveling troupe concept.
Also I'm going to be gone next week.

I play sax but am unreliable. If anything I owe Krow and Lemon sax work so they may request.
Also I'll miss you deeply Lemon.

To be honest, I'd rather see you dance, Proto.

Din's Dance (Troupe Edition) and Din's Dance (Bar Edition). The difference would be the on-keyness of vocals and level of background noise. Proto would be featured in the background attempting to hit on Rosa in the bar edition.

If you ever take this further than a joke, I will provide a vocal clip of me hitting on Rosa.
Oh man, I just drank hot coffee now I'm boiling.

Hey baby, does that robe hold just more than a gorgeous pair of eyes? -raises eyebrows-
I picked Samasa Desert mainly because, lol, that was about the only song left TO pick.
I got me a WIP in the works and it's in a VERY rough stage, though I'm 40 seconds into it. Then again, that's mostly 40 seconds of intro-building (I'm a slow song-builder when it comes to stuff like this... that and I like long pieces). So far it's a sparse piece... with bongos and tambourine being the entire rhythm section.
I know everyone on this forum is better at this than I am, but I'll see where this goes. All I have is my health, my ideas, and FL, but that should be more than enough, right? Right?

Oh, by the way. People who can play instruments. It would be helpful if you could provide samples of yourself playing, so we could get a sense of your ability and recording quality.
charlemagne, I wouldn't have let you on if I didn't think you had some musical ability. You'll do fine. And if you don't do fine, we'll only take you out back and shoot you, so no worries.

On the subject of saying things, I have a WIP now for teh Windmill, sort of a spiritual successor to 'Fill Me Up With Snacky Happiness'. Would something of a similar genre with *ahem* similar vocal clips be both allowed and appropriate for this project?
If so then the plus side is a vocal clip of me hitting on Rosa would fit in quite nicely.
